The Cobbler – Movie Review
Plot: Max Simkin repairs shoes in the same New York shop that has been in his family for generations. Disenchanted with the grind of daily life, Max stumbles upon a magical heirloom that allows him to step into the lives of his customers and see the world in a new way. Sometimes walking in another man’s shoes is the only way one can discover who they really are.
Review: Imagine for a moment being able to walk in another mans shoes. What would you do? In this lighthearted comedy, Adam Sandler does exactly that. Sandler stars as Max Simkin. A show repair fellow who has inherited the family business of … shoe repairs.
Max is unsatisfied with his life, and wants to sell up and explore what life can offer. That is until he discovers the machine that gives him the power to walk in anyone else shoes…. To say anything more is going to give away the fun.
This film is not the typical Sandler movie. So if you are expecting Click or another campy comedy, then think again. This film is one that has some twists and pleasant surprises.
Also starring in this line up is Steve Buscemi, Ellen Barkin and Dustin Hoffman.
This is one film I would recommend.
Verdict: To walk in another mans shoes…
