The end of an era….

The end of an era…. 😦

I finished writing Prophecy’s End. The long awaited final installment in the Chosen Series.

While some of my characters had suffered a horrific death, there were others that went out in quite an uneventful manner.

My favorites though were back in the fold, such as Laura, Alex and Jamiesonn, with even a few choice scenes with Nanomi.

Just how it plays out?

Now, now… that would be telling …. 🙂

You’ll have to wait for the official release…

Prophecy’s End will be available in paperback, e-book and audio-book. February 2018.

What’s next for C.A. Milson?

The Alfrazedian Conflict… A Sci-fi series with the first novella coming towards the end of 2018…

Craig, welcome to my blog. Please tell our readers about yourself.
My first story ever written was in high school. Some years later I submitted a story for a Herald-Sun
competition, but I didn’t win 😦

Always had a story or 2 on my mind and dabbled with writing but it wasn’t until 2012 that I started writing seriously after my wife’s encouragement. She is a very creative person herself (an artist & writer) and it helps to be around others of like mind. In 2013 I self published the first 2 books/parts of my novel “The Chronicles of Vladimir” and in 2014 added the final 2 books/parts and published in a single volume. The book has just had a title change to “Horror at Pine Ridge” the mysterious cemetery in the story.

003 Pine Ridge

In 2014 I submitted – and was successful- a short story called “She Said” to a horror anthology “Happy Little Horrors“. Towards the end of 2014, my current project “Toward the Brink” (an apocalyptic novel), was accepted for publication by Winlock Press an imprint of Permuted Press. It was released on February 24 2015. Its the first of a 4 book series.

Happy Horrors

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Coffee, Oh, and have to feed the Dogs, Cats and Horse !

If you could hang out with one famous person for one day, who would it be and why?
It would probably have to be someone from another planet – I’d like to meet someone with real intelligence at least once which obviously leaves humans out. lol

What’s the story behind your latest book?
Apocalypse, post apocalypse survival

What are you working on next?
I’m currently writing the final book for the Brink series titled “Back from the Brink” (which could be doubtful in itself) as well as preparing a new story set in a lovely small town with picturesque scenery… it just happens to have a serial killer on the rampage. Just to liven things up a bit. On top of that I’m writing a short thriller/suspense type story that will be available only to subscribers of my newsletter – FREE – however, it will be professionally edited.

Do you have any special/extraordinary talents?
I’m pretty intuitive and perceptive of others thoughts – not all but most.

Who are your favorite authors?
Stephen king (doesn’t everyone say that?) James Scott Bell, Ray Bradbury, Richard Matheson James M. Cain. and have lately become interested in Dashiel Hammet and Raymond Chandler.

What do you like to do with your free time?
Play guitar listen to some good music

Tell us about your plans for upcoming books.
At the moment I’d would like to get 2 good length novels (around 50-60k words) and 1 anthology out per year plus 4 novella’s (about 25k words each) as well this year will be 4 novels at 50k words plus and maybe 3 novella’s so its kind of backward but thats ok. 🙂

Meet My Character: Karen from The Chosen Series

Welcome to the Meet My Character. Today we will meet Karen.

Karen

Is he/she fictional or a historic person? Fictional

When and where is the story set? The storyline of The Chosen is set in the not top distant past, and ends with the final book set in the very not to distant future.

What should we know about her? Karen is the type of girl who is always searching for something better in life. The daughter of a drunkard mother, she grew up thinking that it was perfectly okay to use and abuse men, as long as it got her what she wanted. She is intelligent, cunning, manipulative. Karen is a party-hard girl and she especially loves it when men fight over her.

Her fav pastimes are spending too much time in-front of the mirror; Spending her boyfriends (yes, she has many boyfriends) money; Drinking; Getting stoned, and having sex (although this one ranks up pretty high on the list).

What is the main conflict? Karen’s only conflict is trying to find a way to escape the small town life. After witnessing the horrific deaths of Tom and Jeff (by the demon, Lutancix), her salvation comes by Alex, who arrives in Winmont to investigate the paranormal incident.

What is the personal goal of the character? Her only focus is to get out of the small town and live in the city. She has no clue what she will do beyond that.

Karen is one of the three main characters in the Chosen Series. She plays an important role in Bloodline Of Darkness, and (spoilers) she is manipulated in Prophecy’s End to bring about the downfall of Alex. Just who manipulates her, I will not say as that will give you the ending 😉

There is a feature film adaptation of the first book. You can find out about that film HERE.

BookBanter Review

THE CHOSEN – RISE OF THE DARKNESS BY C. A. MILSON: Set in Australia, The Chosen – Rise of the Darkness is a story that can be told anywhere, in any country, on any planet, but it is a story that we are all familiar with; one of the war between good and evil, in a battle of power, might and magic, and the inevitable question of who will triumph?  In the small town of Winmont, the Ancient Legion has been awoken and will stop at nothing in its effort to destroy everything.  But in the balance of life and the world, there must be a good to fight the evil.  Alex Manning is The One – though he of course doesn’t know this at first – but in a world where the supernatural is an everyday existence that, if not respected, can take you life within a breath, he is the only one to stop this evil.  In this world knowledge is power: knowledge of the ways of the paranormal and how to fight them.  The question is whether the young Alex Manning will be up to the task of stopping the Dark Forces?
Milson’s style is a little unusual with head jumping and throwing the reader full into the story, providing little history or back story, but this kind of works for the story being told.  And while terms like “Dark Ones,” “The One,” and “The Elders” are cliché for a horror novel, Milson nevertheless has his own story to tell set in a world that is terrifying and threatening, where you just want to make sure you stay on the side of good, as those who are evil and twisted are beings you don’t ever want to meet.

Many thanks to Alex of BookBanter for the recent review.
